Vacuum or Dust Mop |
Vacuum with proper wood floor
attachment regularly. This will keep dirt and grit off of
your floor that may cause premature wear. Throw rags are
recommended in front of your kitchen sink and at each outside
door. |

|
|
Cleaning |
Wipe up food or other spills
immediately using a damp cloth or paper towel. Regular
cleaning should be done with an alcohol based wood floor cleaner
(Note: not for use on a waxed floor) available at most hardware
stores. |

|
|
Shoes |
Keep high heeled shoes in
good repair. Heels that have lost their protective cap may
cause dents. |

|
|
Furniture |
Use felt pads on the bottom
of chair and sofa legs. We suggest the "peel and stick"
because they are easier to change so you'll tend to always have
clean pads. Pads should be changed every six months to a
year. |

|
No Wax |
Use of wax or other household
cleaners containing wax, oils or silicon is not recommended for
urethane finished wood floors. If wax or other treatments
are applied, recoating may not be possible. |

|
|
Recoat |
As your floor begins to show
wear and does not clean easily, recoating is recommended.
Watch heavy traffic areas, and pivot points for signs of wear.
If the floor is recoated before finish wears through to bare
wood, and maintained properly, you should never have to sand and
refinish again! |
